  My car was not there, so we got a free upgrade. Yes, you have to deal with "I assume you want all insurance", "I offer you a better car for your trip" and the like, but once you kindly say now and review the car properly before signing, there is no problem at all. Will return for sure.

  They are rude and have no regards for people's time. At the airport the shuttle was full, there were people waiting and people who arrived later were serviced first; total chaos. At the office long lines, no assistance... took well over an hour to get the car. The staff was not courteous and would often be chatting while people waited in line for over an hour

  I had a luxury 4x4 booked and payed. When I arrive they try to offer me a beat up standard car for the same price and say they don’t have my car. I can go back to my hotel and wait 6-7 hours and then maybe the will have the car. Obviously this is not ok for me so i start to argue. In the end i have to wait two hours and they provide me with a pretty old Fortuner, not a bad car but this one is in desperate need of a service and a balancing. I didn’t get ANY compensation. The insurance was probably more than the car was worth. I rent often, 10+ times per year and this was the first and last time with budget.

  SCAM - DO NOT USE BUDGET- Paseo Colon Location - San Jose, Costa Rica We rented a car from this location for two days. When we returned it they told us that a tool kit was missing from the car and that it was a $227.00 charge. There was no tool kit included with the car. It was not listed on their sheet as included either. The manager Andrea was very poor help, she ignored most of the conversation. We video taped the incident and have them on camera saying that if they don't charge us they get charged and that they don't know if it was there or not when we took it but they need to charge someone for a tool kit. There was no tool kit in the car. The car also had damage to it already and was pre-marked on the sheet, IF there was a tool kit it was most likely used when the damage occurred. This was a total scam. I think they assumed we are tourist and could get away with this charge. When we first picked up the car Andrea auto charged us for filling the gas tank on return even though we said we would fill it. She also tried to charge us for a GPS that we told her we did not want and she had to take that off before we rented the car. This is ridiculous and clearly a scam. We feel very taken advantage of by this Budget location and the poor processes they have in place.

  Extremely rude & incompetent staff. I was charged MORE THAN DOUBLE the amount I booked the car for -not expecting this I had not budgeted for it. The sales man who insisted I had to pay all of the additional insurances & additional fuel costs (citing some special offer, bogus fuel costs and incorrect math) quickly disappeared on payment, it must be his role to execute the scam. I had to wait over a half hour for the prebooked car. When it arrived, someone pointed to it and told me the keys were inside. I then had to remind staff to give me booking slip, receipt, a printout of damage on the car. No staff would look over all the previous damage on the car with me. The car was full of scrapes and dents. When I asked: to be shown how I open fuel tank? & where the tools are? - for changing the bald spare tire in the boot- the staff rolled their eyes and reluctantly barked a reply. They also insisted the tire would be fine, luckily I did not need it, it was not fine, it was quite dangerous actually. I will never book with Budget again!
