::Great lively place when you want well presented food. The appetizer was my favorite dish with a balanced citrus flavor and a touch of coconut milk. The fish main dish was less stellar. The fish skin was perfectly crispy but the fish and shrimp were overcooked and the sauce/veggies lacked salt.

::Food definitely above average and so was the price. The coconut ceviche delicious! The atmosphere a bit chaotic but people were very friendly. Would come back.

::Enjoying Citrus should be on everyone’s list if anywhere near Ojochal. Gorgeous setting with even more gorgeous food and drinks. The staff are what make Citrus truly magical!

::Amazing! Asian/ French fusion style dishes and incredible, creative fruity drinks! Such a pleasant surprise and well worth the stop. The ambiance is perfect and the service was top notch.

::Citrus is my absolute favourite restaurant in all of Costa Rica. They’ve done an incredible job at perfectly fusing elegant French cuisine with hints of the tropics, making it fit in well in a setting like Ojochal, CR. A beautifully decorated bistro facing a large open courtyard filled with palm leaves, the setting is at the same time both glamorous but casual, and intimate but safe (for Covid times). I love the menu offering and it’s diverse mix of French, Japanese, Thai and Spanish cuisine - all of it tasting fresh and complex in flavours while sophisticated in its preparation and presentation. My personally faves are the escargots, chicken liver mousse, sea bass tartar and sashimi duo to start. Then, for me, their octopus main course is hands down one of the best I’ve ever had in the world. The service here is also top notch and I would stay the way the staff approach hospitality is the same as it’s menu. They’re so friendly as if it’s your neighbourhood joint (they remember every face!) but are also extremely knowledgeable and passionate about fine dining. We’ve eaten here 4 times on this CR trip, and we recently celebrated our Anniversary here. The staff surprised us with bubbles to start and the trio of desserts to finish. Thank you to everyone at Citrus for making our night so memorable. We would highly recommend this tucked away, off the beaten path, gem of a restaurant. We can’t wait to come back, Candice & Jon.
