  This past year, they sold me a very old battery (dated 2011). $780 and it barely lasted for 6 months. They will not honor the warranty because it wasn't installed at their facility. I was not told this in advance. Save a bundle and buy your parts elsewhere (Amazon and Ebay has amazing prices on parts). My new "offbrand" battery from Central Batteries is working fine. I will no longer buy the overpriced parts from Autostar.

  Absolutely and without a doubt, the worst service in Costa Rica. That bar is pretty low, so it is quite the achievement to be so completely overpriced and at the same time, completely inept in terms of customer service and support. (New Car sales was pleasant and helpful, but anyone considering buying a new vehicle from this dealer should also consider that you're paying a premium and will do so for the term of the warranty, while at the same time receive the absolute worst support imaginable, along with ridiculously overpriced parts.)

  I lived in Germany for 12 years of my life and have always bought Mercedes cars for their excellent quality and SERVICE. After moving to Costa Rica I decided to go to where I knew best, Mercedes, expecting the same level of service... The attention to the client was excellent up to the point where AutoStar had my money in their pockets. From there onwards the attention was disgraceful and for every little issue or question the response time was slow and the replies only excuses with no solutions. I felt as if I bought a second hand car in a no name garage, not a premium car with a Mercedes dealership. I believe that Mercedes remains a great brand and their product is remarkable, but that AutoStar does not comply with the high standards that come with such a name and will thus not be buying or reccomending anyone to buy Mercedes here in Costa Rica.
