::Off airport location, continual "upselling". From previous experience in CR, very smart to check your insurance, and get full coverage. . Worst drivers in the known universe inhabit San Jose CR. ADDITIONALLY, if you leave anything (anything!) visible in your unattended vehicle, it will be broken into. Most public parking locations have guards. Tip them in advance to ensure vigilance. Be advised that many roads are not paved, many potholes. Hire a vehicle with good ground clearance and 4 wheel drive if possible.

::On my trip to Costa Rica I rented a car with Alamo. The experience with the rental company was easy and quick. We were in and out and it took probably about 20 for the whole transaction. The representative was very thorough and even gave us a free upgrade!
