  Ruta Verde House is a gorgeous location! William was a kind, attentive host. We loved our breakfast and coffee in the morning. The highlight was definitely the views-I could have stayed on our porch all day!

  The hospitality of the owner and his family was wonderful. Made you feel at home and like family. Bill helped us out so much and was always there. With the language barrier he totally got us set up for our Covid testing so we could fly home. Then there is the food. He has a little cafe and you can eat any meal there. The food was so delicious we didn’t want to go anywhere else to eat. Bill loves to cook for you and everything is fresh and so delicious. Then the rooms are all beautiful with amazing views of the city, mountains and coffee field. The lights of the city with the mountains behind at night are beautiful. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. They have little balcony’s you can sit out and enjoy the breeze and fantastic views. We stayed six nights and didn’t want to leave to fly home. It was also close and convenient to return our rental car and get to the airport. We were so happy we chose Ruta Verde House for our last nights in Costa Rica. Thank you Bill and Lilia and little Sara for sharing your little piece of paradise and time with us. We will be back!!!!!

  First I want to say William is a top notch host! His place is extremely beautiful and the scenery is amazing. We only had the pleasure of staying one night due to our schedule of traveling around Costa Rica. We will for sure be back to stay. Breakfast was great, homemade and wonderful.

  William is the consummate host! Wonderful experience here. Beautiful home with excellent layout and design. Balconies overlook rolling hills and the lights of the city at night. Our family wished our itinerary allowed us to stay here longer. When we return to San Jose, CR area we will only stay here and use it as a launching point for other day trips. He also runs the cafe and restaurant so we essentially had a personal chef making food for our family for dinner and breakfast. It truly was the best food we ate while in the country. His wife is from Brazil so there is a very nice fusion of cooking styles. This was definitely a top highlight of our visit to this beautiful country. As a bonus, William is an artist and displays his incredible artwork around the home. My wife purchased multiple works of art. He pulled the canvases of the frames and wrapped them for us and even met us at the airport to send us off with them safely. Highest compliments to this wonderful man, his family and business.
