  Family owned business, and they are super-friendly. Loved our stay, we needed a stay near the airport and they accommodated us last minute and helped us pack snacks for our early morning trip! Affordable and comfortable.

  Lovely little hostel with everything you need for a couple of nights. Not extremely big and fairly basic but well done

  Helpful and friendly. 'Interesting' building solutions make it feel a bit odd but we were comfy. They swapped a fan that wouldn't work. To park I was pointed to a 24hr manned car park just a minute's walk up the road - I wish I'd made more effort to learn Spanish as English is not that well used. Simple help yourself breakfast in a room that extends to outside.

  As we were looking for a stay near to the airport and away from busy and chaotic San Jose centre, we were super happy with our stay at Pacande. We arrived at 5am, ring the bell and someone open the door for us with no problems. The hotel is simple, but have a good atmosphere, making you feel at ease and relaxed. The back garden with plants is perfect for chilling, reading, eating and having a chat. The room we booked for 2 people actually fit 4, so it was very spacious. Shared bathrooms were always clean and available. Breakfast was good for being included, and fruits were fresh and delicious. Very downtown in Alajuela, it allowed us to go everywhere on foot! Totally recommend.
