  Was there only transit - one night - the city didn't tell me anything - It looks like someone 'once' put a lot of money into the city, but a lot looks overdue - lacks maintenance. Long exciting beach, but only a few bathers.

  We arrived by cruise ship and really loved the area. We took a tour from a local guide. Going to a coffee plantation, volcano, and shopping. At no time did we feel scared in the road or at the port area. Loved the little trinkets sold on the waterfront.

  We arrived by ship - terrible port area - dirty little town, dirty sand by the ocean, was scary in the port area - not really safe.
