::Very quiet place, good location is 4 minutes from Puerto Viejo center, if you want something a little away from the center, the facilities are very clean and beautiful and the complex in general is very relaxing.

::The monthly price, beautiful garden fill grounds and initial hospitality was very nice. Coordinating the wire payment with their daughter Shelby was pretty easy. There is a fee that the Costa Rican bank charges. Ricardo and Celia (Shelby's parents) provide you with insight into the appropriate pricing of taxis, groceries, and where it is good to get good food/groceries/go out. They offer to drive you places when they are available also. Ricardo made me patacones and gave my tia insight into different herbs that helped with ailments. Very hospitable but I had to cut my stay short because of the following unfortunate circumstances as I did not feel comfortable staying and wanted to continue my sabbatical on a high note: They had septic tank issues. The heavy rain seeped into the tank and filled it up. This is what was causing the toilets not to flush in my cabina and the one next door. I was offered another cabina with a functioning toilet for the night and the next morning the issue had not been resolved but I was told the truck would be coming in the afternoon to suck out what was in the septic tank. Initially, I did not want to completely blame the hosts since it is rainy season. But, this is a business and anything good or bad that occurs is the responsibility of hosts. This pov of mine was the crux of our disagreement. My family was here and it was a major inconvenience and very unsanitary. I tried to be as understanding as possible given they are decent people. I booked for the month and of the $360 I paid I received $90 (based on bank exchange) back after staying about 11 days. Because I planned on coming back and forth between seeing different family members and being in puerto viejo for the upcoming week they did not refund me for a week. The $90 was their way of closing out the contract. I chaulked the remainder as a loss since I was initially told I wouldn't get anything back. They also said that being from costas certain things don't bother ticas like it would me since I am from the states. I disagree, my tica born and bred family members disagreed and I believe good hospitality is good hospitality regardless and should remain until the very end. When an error occurs, you as the business owner take the loss and learn from it. Not hold the guest's money hostage. I was very disappointed and disrespected in the moment but we had an additional discussion and this whole situation ended as a learning experience. We still fundamentally disagree but I wish them well.
