  For sixteen years I have been staying at the Hotel owned and operated by Dorris, first El Peñole then after she took Hotel Paradise under her wing I continue to stay with her hotel in Alajuela. I like the security, comfort, friendliness of the staff and the price is very reasonable and fair. Just five min. to the airport Juan Santa Maria. I have stayed with her when I travel alone and also with my family of four. Another good hotel when I visit Manual Antonio or Quepos is Hotel Papa's Papalotes

  This was a really nice place with a hot shower and the neighborhood seemed really nice too. They offer a breakfast for a few dollars extra and will offer you a hot cup of coffee if you're up in the morning.

  The host is very kind and welcoming. We played games after she served the most tasty rice and beans of my entire trip. The rooms are very basic and no parking is included.
