::This company is shockingly bad and would not recommend to anyone. We booked a 4x4 SUV and were quoted one price, I also bought insurance online. When we arrived to pick up the car we were told that we had to pay a price much larger than quoted because of a mandatory insurance fee that tripled the price quoted. I ended up paying it and going on our vacation as planned. As if things couldnât get worse, our brakes gave out on the way home from the mountains and our car flipped. Thankfully we got out of the situation with minimal injuries. If our brakes gave out 5 minutes sooner we would have gone off a cliff and probably wouldnât be here. Hertz has claimed that we will be responsible for the charges for the car. We nearly lost our lives due to their negligence on maintenance of their cars and they think we should pay. I canât believe a company so widely known treats their customers this way. They are a disgrace and if you are looking for a place to rent a reliable care for you and your family I would not recommend Hertz.

::Hertz is a scam in Costa Rica. I agreed on a charge, drop off time, and location, and when dropping off the car at that noted time- was charged extra as my receipt didnât match the printed time yet the agent hand wrote a new time next to it. When emailing the corporate office they wonât do anything but give 30% off for âme messing up the return timeâ. I returned the car at the time that we agreed to, your agent lied and give misleading information so we were charged more. Horrible experience and Hertz Costa Rica wonât take accountability for their wrong doing. The agent also raised his voice to me and my partner and told us he doesnât care and we will be charged that amount anyway.

::Rented at airport location. Not a good value for the money paid. 1 week rental for a compact (Kia Rio) cost 800 USD after adding mandatory insurance. Cars are older with higher mileage.

::Dont even go close to this place. When you book on line it will be 3 times what you agreed to pay. A truck directly in front of us dropped a metal rod off the back of the truck and we ran over it, resulting in a blow out. They insisted we pay for half the expense for the tire. The rate was more that three times what we booked on line. Has a room full of unhappy angry customers. There insurance options are crazy. My wife has a corporate account with Hertz and we cancelled it upon our return. Gone to National. better treatment with three times the locations.
