WARNING! Do not use this company! We shipped household goods and furniture from Calgary, Alberta in Canada to Santa Ana in Costa Rica in November 2015 with this company and the process was an ordeal! The Canadian company 7 Mares used to pack our house into boxes was friendly and professional and so we felt in good hands. What a mistake we made! It was almost impossible to get a response and we ended up getting updates with respect to the status of our shipment from subt-rades of 7 Mares (Hapag- Lloyd) since they simply would not respond to inquiries. Our shipment finally got to Costa Rica on December 15th, 2015 (3 weeks later than promised). Then 7 Mares could not receive money transfer from our Costa Rican bank (Bank of Nova Scotia) and my wife had to meet with Manuel Porras (a principal of the business) to pay cash as he otherwise refused to process our goods at customs, he basically blackmailed us! The worst was that a lot of our goods arrived damaged and that 7 Mares sent people that did not unpack our boxes nor install any of our furniture. Different from what the contract said! When we tried to claim this we were told that because we signed a packaging slip confirming that we received the correct number of boxes we also confirmed that 7 Mares had performed all services required under their contract. Legally they may be right but from a customer perspective they could not have made a worse impression on how Costa Rican businesses conduct themselves. Again, I would strongly advise against using 7 Mares.
