  Without a doubt this is the worst bank and branch that I have ever had to deal with. They have no idea what they are doing, will never admit to mistakes and will not remedy the situation even though the fault is clearly with them. Due to their lack of competency, they managed to charge me hundreds of dollars in unwarranted fees, essentially stealing my money. I'm not sure if they are afraid of being penalized by their management or just don't care that they screw over their customers, but regardless, completely lack customer service and integrity. Don't bother calling the corporate office as they relegate all disputes to the branch offices and will not assist in any matter. They will not return your voice messages or emails and totally try to avoid answering your calls in order to not have to actually do some work. The Costa Rican government should conduct an internal review on this branch to see how many clients have been ripped off and limit the functions of Scotia all together in the country. I promise, this is a bank you will want to stay away from. I will never bank with Scotia in any country again. Wish I could give them zero stars. There is a reason the rating is so low!

  Horrible bank experience wasted money traveling back and forwards to the bank one guy there always makes up stuff so that I couldn't open account the front desk girl was very nice but Juan never contacts you back and looks for reasons to not open your account I have an account at bcr and had no problems ever Other than the lines I also inquiry at proamerica they give you a paper that tells you what you need and are very friendly hope this helps some one wish I didn't waster $30 on a cab back and forwards to be lied 🤥 to by Jaun
