::Small park in the heart of San José, in front of which a large number of people pass by on Central Avenue, some of which stop at the place to sit on one of their benches. The square is surrounded by tiny florists, occasional lottery stands and street vendors. Apparently it was one of the traditional parks that are in front of the churches, which in this case collapsed, being relocated a few blocks away. It encloses great history. It would be called "Plazoleta Castro Madriz" from 1949, when in that place was placed the bust of the patron saint of José María Castro Madriz, first President of the Republic, after being elected head of state and considered father of the Republic.
