::Pros: Access to the beautiful Playa Blanca beach; they are following Covid Protocols; Good Breakfast; Beautiful location. Cons: First it was impossible to communicate with reception. I was travelling without a car an my room was in Selvamar apartments which are about 15 min walk from reception. Room service didn't provide amenities such as shampoo and conditioner or even toilette paper replacement in 2 out of the 4 nights I spent there in total. Buffet dinner is overpriced, half of the restaurants and entretainment options mentioned in the website were not available, sunbeds and umbrella were just provided for members of Punta Leona club, not to hotel guests. And wifi was terrible in common areas despite of the advertisement for digital nomads, I had to stay in the room to be able to work. Ah, and in the last day breakfast was transferred to a restaurant 15 min from my room and I was not advised despite of going the day before to the reception to confirm my appointment for breakfast, so I had to rush to breakie and back to attend a work call on time. Overall service was really poor for the price charged, and I am not picky at all from what you can see in my other reviews.

::If you’re looking for a beach front hotel...this is NOT THE ONE. Go to Crocs or Los Suenos. I booked a room here and just left after dealing with the poor map and the fact that it’s not a resort. It’s just cabins located far away from the beach. Definitely not for me.

::Small cabins, surprisingly well suited and devised. 2 full-size beds, fridge, AC and hot water

::Nice hotel next to tropical jungle, small beach of white sand but mixed with small crushed coral particles. Due to COVID19 the hotel has multiple temperature control points (pool, restaurant, beach, front gate. You have to wash your hands AND apply alcohol gel after. On the negative: advertised rooms pictures for standard rooms correspond to superior rooms, the standar selvamar room does NOT have a little terrace, it is however comfortable and one individual can work on the small desk. Food in hotel restaurant is overpriced and you need to drive 15 mins over sharp curves to make your way out. Best bet if eating in the hotel is the large pizza which is enough for 3 maybe 4 people at nearly 20US$. Nearby “Quebrada de Ganado” village offers way better “Soda” restaurants (small though but you can call and order and do pick up), the local Casado ranges from crc 3500 to crc 3900, and I can guarantee you be full. A combination of side orders is a better choice. The hotel punta leona is next to the beach but the rooms are nearly 300 meters away from the pool and beach side. Minigolf is NOT included and cost about $3 per player. The butterfly hall needs a reservation and the ping pong requires you leaving your drivers licence or passport. Pool access, restaurant access and most facilities access only have a one way in and out as the measure to reduce labor and force everybody to circulate back and forth through everybody using the facilities, all other access points for the pool per instance are closed, although it would make more sense to have them open and enforce social distancing. Whenever there is thunder even if far they will ask you to leave the pool area and this happens from June onwards until October. Overall close to SJO (1 hour), beautiful red lapas birds, not high volume music in the pool (which is great), mostly kind personnel, I wish they were using masks instead of plastic screens which lets air in and out, breakfast is included but is “a la carte” with four options, if you have the time and money a must visit you can spend here 4 or 5 days to chill out.
