::What confuses me the most is how this place has any good reviews at all. I can only assume they come entirely from family of the owners. The quality of this “hotel” is hostel quality at best and I’ve stayed in nicer hostels. While sleeping was challenging because the mattress springs jabbed my ribs I also had to hold my bladder because our toilet didn’t work and the staff was unable to fix it. If this place had cost $40-$50 per night I wouldn’t complain. I’d say “that sounds like the right price for what we got”. But the cost was $170 per night and the shower had only one valve with trickling cold water. They have no hot water for the shower. In summary, the accommodation is very poor. On the plus side the breakfast was actually good and the lady that runs the place is responsive but ineffective.

::Hotel Don Robert is two blocks away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Puntarenas. Once you go through the gate of Hotel DonRobert you are in your own little Paradise. It is very quiet inside there and the host Dona Flory is very very nice. She provides a excellent breakfast in the morning with sliced fruit, eggs, rice and beans, Gallo pinto , and maduro. We have stated other hotels in Puntarenas but we found Hotel Don Robert to be the best for value and price.
