  This hotel was nice 15 years ago, but was clearly run down. Pros: View of the volcano Breakfast was good Cons: Ants in the room both mornings Pool was filled with leaves in February (which is dry season/high season) Very loud neighbors Find a place closer to Fortuna for the same price

  Booked an overnight hotel room. Reservation was canceled due to a problem with the hotel. We did not learn this until we arrived at this hotel and even then the hotel staff didn’t seem to know how to accommodate us. Ultimately, their solution to rebook us into a different cheaper hotel down the road was not satisfactory. When we asked the owner for a refund and further help, he got belligerent and hyper. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Total lack of customer service and unprofessional staff. There are lots of other beautiful hotels around this town.

  Would definitely never recommend this place. We had arranged through a travel agent to stay here and when we arrived they said there was no room available for us due to a water issue. They recommend another hotel, which was a significant downgrade, in my opinion. I told the owner I wanted a refund for the stay and I would arrange my own hotel. He said good luck, it wasn’t his problem, and he doesn’t have time to deal with me. His property was very run down and so is his attitude. My advice, stay away.
