  I'm an American from Houston, TX spending two months in Pérez Zeledón. I have sjorgens syndrome which makes my mouth prone to cavities so stopping in and taking advantage of the much cheaper dental care than in the states was a must! I stumbled into this one patient office, got a quote for two sets of mouth molds (used for sleeping at night), a full cleaning with X-rays and scheduled an apt. I ended up spending 65,000 colones for an existing broken cavity that Dr. Erika had to repair (included the numbing injection and creme), 4 X-rays and the cleaning. In US dollars at the current conversion rate is around $115. She took her time ensuring a really solid cavity fill (I have over 20 cavities due to my condition and have had over 8 dentists work on me). And her cleaning process is a two part where she first grinds the built up tartar/plaque off and then comes in with the paste for the brushing. She was careful, attentive, caring and extremely professional. She attended a private University and with the help of her family began her own private practice. She's very talented and hard working (she is the administrator, receptionist, dentists assistant and dentist). Not to worry though, I received all of the attention I needed and she has mastered the art of single handedly running her own practice. I will return for any future work needed while in the area and recommend her for your work too!!
