  The rooms are nice and comfortable but I definitely wouldn't trust the owner for another tour. He told me he was going to take me on a tour all around the volcano for $25, I agreed and he dropped me off at a park for a couple hours and picked me up. I could have done that for $3 each way on Uber. The rooms and location were excellent

  I am Costa Rican but I have been living in Miami for 16th years ! Since 2007 I have been coming to Cabinas Las Palmas with my family every year! It was my dad favorite place to stay in arenal, the location is amazing , a supermarket across the street, the fortuna park and many restaurants walking distance! The owners are the administrators (they are very friendly)and knowledgeable about tours and best prices to the hot water springs like baldi! If you are planning to come with your family and you are on a budget this is the right place for you. The only inconvenience that I thing they have is the parking ( to me was never a problem) but!!!! I know for some people maybe will be.

  Dreadful to say the least. Receptionist has no idea what customer service is. A total ans insultant lack of interest. There was a soccer game and he seemed more attentive to the game than the 7 customers on the reception with already booked reservations. I asked for two AC bedrooms que got one, the other unit did not worked and no one was responsible for it. I was promised hot water on both rooms and then the rooms with AC did not have hot water. Toiler paper was scarce, had to buy my own, it was a better option than to beg the receptionist for it. I was promised private parking which was non existent, after a discussion ( when possible to distract the receptionist from his game) i was given an acceptable alternative, but I basically had to fight for it. Other than that, rooms were clean, mattresses were firm. Towels were provided. Anyways is too much of a gamble to try for this place again. I wouldn't bet on it.

  Cheap no-thrills hotel for the budget traveller Pros: - close and centrally locates - next to many good restaurants (ESPECIALLY the one attached to the hotel - they are so lovely and kind, and offer good food at cheap prices) - next to a super market - clean rooms, fans, showers - rooms are very affordably priced Cons: - unfriendly office staff - mildly pushy when it comes to booking tours - over charged us for a ride to the hanging bridge. I’d suggest Uber or a local taxi instead. - rooms up top get quite hot during the day and into the night - bad beds and pillows - my girlfriend thought the showers were too cold
