  Lovely to see this. Reminds me of San Francisco. When I passed here on my way back from visiting the Teatro Nacional, which is a must, it was bucketing down. The rain was so hard that even those with brollies were sheltering under the shop overhangs. I didn't have one so I was just taking a bath.

  Happened upon this gate by accident. Skip this. Unimpressive. There weren't many Chinese stores or restaurants around or nearby.

  I love walking around this part of the city but exercise a normal typical amount of caution at night - not as dangerous as any typical large American city, just stay alert of who is around you and where you are - popular tourist spot in the middle of San José - statues and lighted photo areas are great as well as public benches to relax and enjoy
